Apple & sultana porridge

A low-fat breakfast of warm oats and fruit that starts the day in a nutritious and filling way
Ingredients

100g porridge oat

500ml skimmed milk

4 apple, cored and diced

100g sultana
-
1 tbsp brown sugar, to serve
Method

Put the oats and milk in a small pan and cook, stirring, for 3 mins until almost creamy. Stir in the apples and sultanas, then cook for 2 mins more or until the porridge is thick and creamy and the apples just tender. Ladle into bowls, sprinkle with sugar and eat immediately.
Peanut butter & banana on toast

Ingredients

2 slices granary bread

1 small banana
-
½ tsp cinnamon
-
1 tbsp crunchy peanut butter
Method
-
Toast bread and slice banana. Layer banana on one slice of toast and dust with cinnamon. Spread the second slice with peanut butter, then sandwich the two together and eat straight away.
